I create landscapes for the pure joy of painting in oils. I love the feel and smell of applying color with oil bars and oil pastels. Painting feeds my senses – tactile, visual and olfactory.

I love being in nature – hiking, kayaking, fishing, gardening – all of these activities are joyful. I feel spiritually connected to something larger than myself when I am outdoors. Landscape painting, for me, is a small imitation – a minute recording – of something cosmic.
