My drawing/collage work is a response to my propensity for collecting small pieces of my environment (what I call the "magpie complex"), my love of archaeology (buried and excavated objects from the past), and a gift for detailed drawing.

The creative process, for me, is circular rather than linear. Sometimes the detailed, graphite drawing initiates the process, other times a journal entry is the starting point. Several pieces began with picking up a discarded object in a parking lot and wondering about its journey to the time and place where I found it. Each object has a history - some I know - many are unknown.

Each collage is about me - what I have lived, how I have thought, how I have felt. They are a visual journal of my life-journey.

Each life-journey is connected to all life-journeys.
